NUIG – Dangan Laboratories Refurbishment

Project Description:
The Dangan Labs for NUIG entailed the refurbishment of existing laboratories with new chemical resistant furniture, flooring, complete new labs, fume hoods, gas services with stringent gas proving technologies beyond that of regulation guidelines and a complete services overhaul and renewal. It also required the installation of many other safety features such as state of the art access controls and sensors along with drench showers and eye washes in the event of chemical spillages. All pertinent rooms were finished to ensure no areas for harbouring germs or build-ups were allowable. This project was completed in a very short contract period of only 8 weeks despite the multitude of specialist traders and services involved. A portion of the building remained occupied leading to considerable planning to ensure the safety and comfort of existing staff.
