Elevate at Central Plaza

On Friday 2oth September 2019, as part of Culture Night, a heart-stopping, one-of-a-kind aerial performance took place at Central Plaza on Dame Street, Dublin.

Advertised as ‘Metal meets muscle on the Dublin skyline’ Elevate, was a breathtakingly beautiful, gravity-defying show created and performed by Ireland’s leading aerialists Aerial Cirque, with music by Cork-based composer Peter Power and visuals by Bulgarian artist Petko Panchev.

This event was commissioned by Dublin City Council for Dublin Culture Night, and supported by Hines and Stewart Construction along with Brogan Group.

Dean Stone, project manager at Central Plaza said: “The Stewart Construction team were delighted to be involved in Elevate at Central Plaza, an aerial performance as part of Culture Night 2019 celebrating culture, creativity and the arts.  The event presented some unusual challenges for a construction site, such as constructing vertical dance platforms along the tower crane mast and safely facilitating the production’s lighting, sound and video projection requirements, whilst ensuring the day to day construction activities were not impacted upon.  Well done to Aerial Cirque, Petko Tanchev, Peter Power, Davis Events, the Culture Night coordination team, Brogan Group and Casey Crane Group for making the night a success, along with the support from Dublin City Council and Hines.”
