Stewart Win at The Irish Building and Design Awards 2013

Following on from Stewart success in the Lama Awards 2013 with Tipperary Offices & Civic Plaza Project winning “Best Civil Engineering Project” earlier this year in this fourth generation construction company, Stewart, accepted the award for “Engineering Project of the Year” and “School Building Project of the Year” at the CMG Building and Design Awards 2013 at a glittering gala evening hosted by RTE’s Bryan Dobson in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire on Friday night, April 26th.

The company’s commitment to a sustainable environment was demonstrated through its’ proactive environmental policy, leading the way in delivering buildings to benchmark Standards, such as BREEAM and LEED on prestigious projects such as OPW Decentralised Property Registration Authority Offices in Roscommon, the first Design & Build Public Building in Ireland to be classified ‘EXCELLENT’ under BREEAM sustainability standards and the Tipperary Civic Plaza Campus which comprised of new offices for both the Department of Justice and Equality and Tipperary Town Council. Once the LEED Certified process is complete, Stewart will become the 1st Contractor in Ireland to have Design & Build projects certified under both Sustainability Standards.

Stewart was also shortlisted in 2 other categories, “ Contractor of the Year” and “Sustainability Project of the Year” for Tipperary Offices & Civic Plaza Project.

Two of Stewart’s Project Managers have been shortlisted for the prestigious CIOB “Construction Manager of the Year” Awards 2013 which will be held in the Conrad Hotel on the 07th June.
This recognises Stewart’s commitment to delivering high quality projects in the most efficient manner possible.
