Foundation Stone Laying RCSI Smurfit Building Phase 2

On Friday 7th April, Kieran O’Connor and Paul Stewart attended the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony on site at the RCSI Education and Research Centre, Smurfit Building, Beaumont Hospital. 

Opened in 2000, the Education and Research Centre (ERC), Smurfit Building is home to the first academic Clinical Research Centre to be established in Ireland.

Phase II will incorporate a new student concourse at ground floor level to link the existing building with the new facility. The new facilities will include a series of large flexible multi-functional tutorial rooms on the ground floor, open plan faculty offices and meeting spaces on the first floor and laboratory and research facilities on the second floor.

The project is currently on-track for completion mid-2018.
