CMG Building and Design Awards 2011
Following on from Stewart success in the Chartered Institute of Building – Construction Manager of the Year 2011 Awards earlier this year fourth generation construction company, Stewart, accepted the award for Sustainable Construction at the CMG Building and Design Awards 2011 presented by well known Broadcaster Ivan Yates at a glittering gala evening in the Four Seasons, Ballsbridge on Friday night, December 2nd.
The company’s commitment to a sustainable environment was demonstrated through its’ proactive environmental policy, leading the way in delivering buildings to benchmark Standards, such as BREEAM and LEED on prestigious projects such as OPW Decentralised Property Registration Authority Offices in Roscommon, the first Design & Build Public Building in Ireland to be classified ‘EXCELLENT’ under BREEAM sustainability standards and the on-going Tipperary Civic Plaza Campus which comprises new offices for both the Department of Justice and Equality and Tipperary Town Council. Upon completion of Tipperary Civic Plaza Campus Stewart will be the first contractor in Ireland to have projects certified under both international sustainability standards.
Stewart was also shortlisted in 2 other categories, “ Contractor of the Year” and “Retrofit Project of the Year” for “The Street” Project at GMIT Galway Campus.
